Store history and what the store offered when it was open

I started my business in 1986, and it has evolved from a 700 square foot strictly sports oriented hobby shop into a 2,100 square foot gaming store. I originally carried over 600 types of sports booster packs, along with over 500,000 sports singles. Now although there is a large selection of sport collectables in stock there is an ever increasing demand for gaming oriented products and supplies. My store offers plenty of space for the many gaming tables needed to host the tournaments held every week. Magic the gathering and Yu-gi-oh are the dominant games being played at this time. I carry an awesome selection of packs, singles, decks, and supplies for both games. My prices are almost always below suggested retail. Compare and you will see that they are extremely competitive.  Not being open every day of the week, I am counting on my low prices to encourage you to wait until I am open, so you can make your purchases at my shop. Good plan huh? Everyone wins, you get more for your money, and I get the increased sales that allow me to keep my store open.

"Pay where you play" was a catchy saying that was the title of an Game Trade magazine article. The article basicaly stated that you should impress on your customers that haveing a gaming area is a huge expence to a business and that if they play games at your store then they should seriously consider buying there gaming items at your store. I wont say that to my customers, instead Ill let my low prices and selection do the talking.

My store also offers other types of gaming:

2 pool tables (50 cents a game), a 50s baseball pinball machine (25 cents a game), 2 fooseball tables (25 cents a game), and 1 ping pong table (3.00 An hour). You can expect to pay way more at other locations, please compare my prices.

There has been exceptional attendance in the tournaments at the shop. Could it be that I do not take the usual cut most shops take from the prize pool to cover overhead expenses.  I give back to the people who do not make the top four. Is that cool or what? The players who frequent my tournaments are spoiled, and only realize how good they have it as far as prize support goes when they go to other shops and play in tournaments. I have been doing this for over 24 years and in my opinion if you give back to the customer then they will treat you fairly, (well most of them most of the time). Tournaments are a cheap way to learn how to play any game your interested in. Think about it. If you play in a tournament you will get an idea of what types of decks work and can see what does not work. This way your less likely to purchase cards that are slow, weak, or you will not use after you get better. The tournament experience actually saves you money, because your not buying cards you will soon out grow, your more educated so your purchases are more specific and deliberate. Over the long haul your game will get stronger faster and you will save money, while possessing way cool cards that have resale value if you decide to sell them. If you spent 5 minutes talking to me, you would realize I always look for ways for both of us to win in all transactions, sales, and or tournaments. That is the way it should be in a perfect world. We however do not live in a perfect world so my shop is the closest you will find anywhere. ha ha ha, well if I cleaned the rug once in a while maybe.... With that said, it would be a good idea to pick up after yourself once in a while. You also have my permission to straighten up a little even if you did not make the mess this time. I truly believe that if we all work together everyone benefits.  Don
